Full-Time Position

Position Title                : Level 2 / Maintenance Cleaner

Reporting Manager       : Kelly Foster Hallett, Director

Rate of Pay:        $20.3

Primary Responsibilities

·      Perform maintenance and custodial services required for facilities and amenities that fall within the Woodstock Recreation and community services departments. Includes all AMC and recreational facilities

·      Turf/landscape maintenance

·      Monitor, troubleshoot and maintenance of systems within Recreation and Community Services Department.

·      Arena ice installation and maintenance.

·      Operation of Zamboni, mower and tractor system

·      Perform stand by for Sunday-Monday

·      Cover Lead Hand stand by, for vacation and sick time.

This position should be of interest to both women and men who have a strong desire to serve their community, possess a strong work ethic, leadership, organizational and communication skills, able to provide a high level of customer service and work flexible hours.

Required qualifications:

Carpentry skills an asset

• High School Diploma

• Class 5 Drivers License

• Previous equipment operation (tractor, mower etc.)

• Maritime Operators Level 1 & 2 Certification would be an asset.

• Clean driver abstract

• Clean criminal record check & Vulnerable sector check

HOURS OF WORK:

Due to the nature of the position, a flexible work schedule will be required that will involve evenings and weekends. 

Remuneration is in accordance with an established salary scale of Local 719. The Town of Woodstock is an equal opportunity employer and provides a wide range of employee benefits.

JOB POSTING – Equipment Operator I ( 6 MONTH TERM)

 The Town of Woodstock is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of "Equipment Operator I” to join our Public Works department on a 6-month TERM basis. Reporting to the Superintendent of Public Works. This TERM position is Unionized with wages and benefits as set out in the Collective Agreement between the Town of Woodstock and CUPE 719.

The successful applicant must:

·       Be willing and able to perform the duties of a Labourer as required.

·       Maintain a valid Class 5E driver’s license (air brake)

·       Have a clean driving abstract (5 years) – Abstract is required and is to be submitted with application.

·       Be able to competently and safely operate the following pieces of equipment.

o   Ford tractor and all attachments

o   Sidewalk plow with all attachments (Willie, Trackless), and

o   Asphalt roller

JOB POSTING – Water & Sewer Utility Operator

The Town of Woodstock is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Water & Sewer Utility operator to join our Public Works department on a Full-Time basis. Reporting to the Superintendent of Public Works, this position is Unionized with wages and benefits as set out in the Collective Agreement between the Town of Woodstock and CUPE 719.

 

The successful applicant must:

·       Be willing to obtain provincial certification in the water and waste water treatment, distribution systems.

·       Have knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and techniques necessary for the installation and repair of all water, and sanitary sewer main lines and services.

·       Demonstrated safe work practices and possess necessary knowledge of safety practices, procedures, and occupational hazards in the Wastewater operation/maintenance environment.

·       Possess working knowledge of sewer/water regulations.

·       Demonstrate ability to work reliably with minimum supervision.

·       Demonstrate ability to prepare reports and maintain records.

·       Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with coworkers, managers, customers and external stakeholders

·       WHIMS training as required for chemicals used at the WWTP facilities – Will provide training

·       Confined space entry training as required for entry into WWTP tanks when emptied – Will provide training

·       Possession of a valid NB Class 5 with Air Brake endorsement (Driver’s Abstract will be required and is to be submitted with application).

·       Experience operating in and around heavy equipment.

·       Be willing and able to act as Labourer, Equipment Operator 1, Equipment Operator 2 and Equipment Operator 3 when required.
