2017-Patti Lynn Connors


Since 1979 when Patti began competing in Special Olympics, she has emerged as a national champion and has won several gold medals representing Canada at world and international competitions. Patti played and competed to the best of her ability in four sports: cross-country skiing, bowling, athletics, and snowshoeing.

She has twice been honoured by Special Olympics Canada as the recipient of prestigious national awards.

In 1999, Patti was named Canadian Female Special Olympic Athlete of the Year and her accomplishments were documented in a TSN profile. In 2016, she was chosen as the recipient of the Dr. Frank Hayden Special Olympics Canada National Aware. This award recognizes an athlete who over the course of their career serves as a role model to fellow athletes and exemplifies the true spirit of Special Olympics.

In addition to these accomplishments, Patti has numerous medals at the New Brunswick summer and winter games. It was this success that allowed her to represent New Brunswick on the Canadian and international stage.
